Miami Shores isn’t a city. Or a town. It’s a village, with a quiet way of life and small-town atmosphere. Located just north of Miami on beautiful Biscayne Bay, the municipality was established in 1932 and called "The Village Beautiful". Residents and visitors can escape the fast-paced South Florida lifestyle in the more leisurely life at Village-owned facilities, including: golf and tennis at the Country Club; swimming at the Aquatic Center; and year-round athletic facilities at the Recreation Center.
The Village is also a center for quality education, with "A" rated schools Miami Shores Elementary and Doctors Charter School (middle and high school) providing an A-rated education from kindergarten through 12th grade. Barry University, named one of "America’s Best Colleges" by Forbes magazine is also wholly located within the Village. An easy commute to business centers in both Dade and Broward counties, our northeast Dade location provides easy access to South Florida’s major expressways, beaches, and sports and entertainment attractions.
